This is a great combination lock, which I highly recommend, perfect for travel, because the shackle is large enough to grasp as much as is needed.

    Seems to be a sturdy little lock that I intend to use on gun cases. Setup of your personal code requires pressing a bottom while you are turning the dials to your setting. I suggest good lighting, a ballpoint pen, a firm table with a non-slip surface and at least average dexterity. You'll get there eventually and it does get easier on the next one, but this is not a flick of the finger setup.

    I purchased these to lock my hunting rifle/gun case. It seems adequate as I think this kind of item gets a bit more attention by baggage handlers and I think that is favorable - harder to break into, etc. The Lock is cable and as such is not overly thick (maybe 1/8") and with a reasonable pair of wire cutters, could probably cut. I don't think I would trust it out in the public but from an airline standpoint, I think it would be ok - at least i hope so (will know more when I head out to ND pheasant Hunting in October). The instructions and method to reset the combination was straightforward and easily accomplished.
    overall I think it will be adequate - what do you want for 8 bucks (super saver deal as I spend too much at STP !!).

    Small enough to fit through 2 zipper pulls on a backpack. A bit heavy but it is good quality.

    The locks that come with luggage are cheap and flimsy at best and we wanted locks on the bags when used them for our cruise. These are perfect and very high quality. You won't be disappointed.

    Will serve purpose as lock for backpack. Is a little heavier than I thought it might be.

    • Answer A= the cable, especially the loose end.
      B= the combo dials
      C= the tiny button on the bottom beneath the dials.

      1. Keep/Set dials to 0-0-0
      2. Hold (A) the loose end of the cable and move it left (extended slot), then remove the tip to open.
      3. Push button (C) on the bottom in the direction of the arrow and HOLD while completing next step. [try a ball-point pen; not easy to do...]
      4. With button pressed, turn dials (B) to your desired combo
      5. Release the button, insert the loose cable end back into the slot and slide right to close the lock.

      The button-holding-while-turning the combo dials will likely take some practice. Did you check on line for Frontier Cable luggage lock?
