    These boots have held up thus far in 10 inch snows in wv. The soles are by no means non slip but in general tread well with care on ice. These boots may be labeled suede but they are not like the markabe suede of dress shoes. I would have no problem wax snoesealing these boots and giving them that weather beaten look. In few words, retro, well made, durable, comfortable. Buy

    I've not worn these much yet, and believe they will stretch as I wear them so they'll be more comfortable. I had a great pair of Fryes (yes, during college in the 70s) and was happy to see these available. Those had leather soles; the crepe soles on these make them even more comfortable. Far out!

    These are the greatest boots. They are comfortable, durable,great looking, and last "forever". I had them in the 60' and am now buying them for my children (who are in their 20's). They love them too.

    I really like the boots. I was a little worried about the material used for the soles, but after wearing them for a few days, I have learned to really like it. Quiet, no squeak when wet, comfy to walk in.
