5.0 out of 5 stars. Amazing boots for the priceReviewed by Anonymous from ridges, PA on Monday, February 16, 2015I bought these way before the winter and was excited to try them, but winter ended up being a little delayed. But now that there seems no end in site for winter, I don't mind at all. Because these boots Rock! I almost returned them thinking they didn't fit, the problem was that I only had a thin polyester dress sock on and I needed to be in a thick or double layered merino wool - like I would if I were actually out in them.
Note: these are hiking boots and not standing around or ice fishing boots. They are meant to keep you warm and not retain all the moisture too. I hike with my dog in these and they've seen everything from slush and ice - 8 inches deep of snow. There isn't a single cold or wet spot to be found. I hiked with these yesterday for 5 miles in about 4 inches of snow and 5 degree - probably -15 windchill. I had on a mid layer merino wool and a thicker weight wool sock. Perfectly comfortable and dry. My feet were warm but not too warm, just felt well regulated like a 60* fall day hike.
I think the person that walked the trail before me might have had them on too because I noticed the signature x tread.. guess it could have been any boot but I'd like to think it was another pair of Garmont's.
If you pick these up on a good % off day with STP you cannot go wrong with these boots. You get soooo much more than what you pay. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. pretty good bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Washington, DC on Wednesday, February 4, 2015I looked at zillions of boots before purchasing these boots. I actually purchased to other pair and returned them. I was looking for a pair of boots that are water proof (not water resistant), insulated, not too bulky, black and very comfortable for walking. I already have boots that go to minus 20 degrees F and did not want the bulk of boots that warm.
I am fairly pleased with these boots. The ankle support is stiffer that I like but I am getting used to it. They were very inexpensive compared to other boots with these features. I wear a 7/12 medium and bought these in size 8 medium. I think I would have been comfortable with a 7 1/2 as one only needs to wear liner socks most of the time.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Very StiffVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from SW Four Corners on Sunday, December 28, 2014These boots would be great if it wasn't for the stiff material around the ankles. Break in time is a must and my ankles were sore just after a few hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Hiking boots for snowVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from NY on Wednesday, December 17, 2014Excellent and came just in time for our daughter who works outdoors. It is very difficult for her to find boots in her size and comfortable. Her feet are now woosie warm ( yes, that is a word and if it isn't it should be)

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great for hikingReviewed by White mountain hiker from New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 25, 2014I got these last week and used them on my first winter like hike where there was snow and ice on the higher elevations. Our hike was 9 miles and they were comfortable and had good grips on the rocks. They didn't even bother a blister on my heel from an old pair of boots. I wear a size 8 and ordered a size 8 that fit perfectly with a mid weight sock. They did not feel too stiff to me. I can't wait to use them more for hiking, snowshoeing or getting around in winter. They also are very lightweight. Plus I got a great price on this website.

5.0 out of 5 stars. A must buy!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Minnesota on Tuesday, November 11, 2014I bought these boots for wearing mostly in the yard and shoveling, not hiking. Living in Minnesota and all the snow, not to mention cold weather we get, I thought these would be a great purchase. Completely 100% satisfied with them! My feet stay dry and warm all day.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Achilles painVerified Buyer Reviewed by OregonHiker from Oregon on Monday, November 10, 2014I bought these for my wife and they look great and fit well, but the back is high and stiff and left her with pain on a fairly short hike.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great boots!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Colorado Mtn Girl from Colorado on Tuesday, November 4, 2014Although we haven't had any real snow yet, these seem like they're going to be exactly what I was looking for: high quality, warm, supportive boots to walk the dog in the winter. They have a beefy sole with good traction, and a hook for wearing gaiters to keep the snow out. They're a little stiff around the ankles right now, but I imagine that will loosen up with use. I normally wear a size 7.5-8, and ordered an 8 so that I could wear thick socks and orthotics, and the sizing seems perfect.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Runs smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Heather from Spokane on Wednesday, October 29, 2014These boots run about a half size small and have a very narrow ankle opening. Sent them back... too tight.
