Bought this for winter/rain/snow walking. Ad states they run large so get a 1/2 size smaller. They were too small; both in length and width. I sent them back and purchased something else. They are clunky looking, bulky, and I certainly couldn't wear a half size smaller.

I purchased the non-gortex version, so my experience may not be the same as others. These are clunky shoes, so don't buy them for fashion, but they are VERY comfortable-- and supportive and strangely warm. Don't know what they will be like in summer. I have found them true to size and not particularly wide, so I'm not sure what others are referring to. (I have a slightly narrow foot, and while there is LOTS of room in the toe box, the instep and heel are properly snug. They also have ride higher on the foot than most hiking shoes, but they don't rub. The first thing I do when I come into the house is to take off my shoes and put on my crocs-- except with these. I am perfectly comfortable wearing them around the house. They have great support-- and great padding. Traction is good too. At the price I paid, I am delighted!

I'm struggling to find shoe that is both flexible and Goretex. This one is more flexible than most and has good cushioning. It does run short, though. The width is probably ok for someone with narrow to average width foot. I have an average to wide foot and these are a tad too narrow.
