Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
“I purchased the non-gortex version, so my experience may not be the same as others. These are clunky shoes, so don't buy them for fashion, but they are VERY comfortable-- and supportive and strangely warm. Don't know what they will be like in summer.
I have found them true to size and not particularly wide, so I'm not sure what others are referring to. (I have a slightly narrow foot, and while there is LOTS of room in the toe box, the instep and heel are properly snug. They also have ride higher on the foot than most hiking shoes, but they don't rub.
The first thing I do when I come into the house is to take off my shoes and put on my crocs-- except with these. I am perfectly comfortable wearing them around the house. They have great support-- and great padding. Traction is good too.
At the price I paid, I am delighted!”
