Boots often fail to meet my idea of ideal. these Garmont Sitkas are just about perfect for me.They are very supportive. They have great traction under wet and dry conditions. The wokmanship and design are excellent. They have just enoungh cushioning to provide a little bounce while still offering great control on rocky and uneven ground.

I had a pair of these that I bought when they first came out...never had a blister or any foot problems with these boots. I was worried that Garmont might change the model for the worse so I bought a second pair. Got them for [$] at STP (the first pair cost [$])

I'm still breaking these boots in. I've walked about 6 hours in them. Every walk is better. I use the Garmont's for walking in a primitive park everyday. I'm a size 12 to 121/2. Get the next 1/2 size up if you are debating on what size to order. I have a 121/2 and it's about right. Lacing is good. Metal clips at the top. We'll see how they hold up. I walk in very wet conditions so Gore Tex is a must. The arch is OK. I may add arch support like I have in my Danners. Garmont has thought of the anatomical construction of the boot considering the big toe placement, boot tongue, and boot height adjustment to accomodate us humans. So far, good boot for my needs.

I have had several pairs and love them. I have a wide foot EE and few boots fit well but these are cut a with a bit different shape that leaves room for my foot. I have about 15 miles in them so far and are pretty comfortable, accept I'm having problems where the top laces are digging into my ankle. I have been getting around it by doing some creative lacing.( tightening them at ankle and leaving them a bit loose at the top) I think these are going to be my new on trail backpacking boots.
