Have been using a pair of these for about four (!) years as my primary pair of shoes, and while they are certainly looking worn, there are still many miles in them. Excellent comfort for walking/approaching, but are no good for running. Liked them so much, I ordered two more pairs - best allround shoe i've ever had. Garmont, you need to continue producing this model, please!

I use these shoes for playing disc golf on some pretty serious terrain, lots of rocks, water, and moderate climbing. I tend to go through shoes very quickly, having them blow out around the toe and heel area. I have been wearing these shoes for about a month now and they show very little sign of wear, which makes me very happy. Usually in about a month, I can tell that the shoe is not going to go the distance. I can tell that these shoes are going to last a while. The toe of these shoes is especially durable. They have great grip on the ground and while climbing, but if they get wet they are a little slippery. Not as bad as some other shoes, though.
On the downside, they are not as comfortable as I would like them to be. Maybe it's just the way that they fit my particular foot, but it feels like they don't give support in the right area. My heel and instep are well supported, but the ball of my foot gets sore after a while. I put some gel inserts in them and it made it a little better.
I would say that I am satisfied with these shoes overall, but I'm not sure if I would buy them again. I have been a long time Merrell wearer and was curious about Garmonts. The Garmonts seem to be very durable, but as far as comfort goes, I think that I'll stick to my Merrells on future purchases.
