The boots are light weight but considerably stiff. The ankle support is superior. The sole is very hard, so the combination with soft insole is recommended. Unfortunately the boots I received varied in the length of right and left of the shoelace. I changed them with the old boots. This may be limited to mine. I can recommend this for serious hikers and mountaineers.

These boots were made for making a statement. The statement is. I am too beautiful to confirm to any other article of clothing I am worn with. As a result, you will have to leave them in the box to admire from time to time, imagining how awesome they will be if you wear them. Or you could be buried with them on.

I like them..only worn them for a few miles but they seem very solid. You can definitely see / feel the ski boot design come through as there is a LOT of ankle support, maybe too much / too stiff - haven't decided yet...more miles will tell!

    • Cons: A bit Stiff

Climbed the North Peak couloir (near Yosemite) in these—four pitches of moderate front-pointing. Worked great even though the sole is a little flexy. Great boots for approaching alpine rock climbs where you have to crampon to the base of the climb.
    • Best Uses: Approach hikes, Summer mountaineering
    • Pros: Good On Rock, Light Weight, Takes Crampons
