Gentle Souls Buckled Up Boots - Leather (For Women)
Closeouts. Gentle Souls' Buckled Up is the way to go when you're going for a classic biker boot amped up by ultra-modern toches like crackled leather, oversized buckles and winter treads that aren't afraid of a little weather. Plus they're comfortable beyond belief.
Reviewed by Melissa from Washington on Monday, September 30, 2013I need comfortable footwear and usually wear Naots because of the built in orthotics, but when I wanted a flat dress boot with some flair and read about Gentle Souls flaxseed pillow footbed I decided to try it. I am on my feet all day and felt such relief when putting these boots on. Yes, the heel slips, but all you have to do is tighten the ankle strap (I added two more holes for the buckle) and they hug my heel perfectly. I usually order an 8 in dress shoes, so I followed the advice of other reviewers and ordered a half size down, which fit perfectly. I have narrow feet and these boots fit without that "sloshing" around inside the boot--nice and snug. I have slender calves so I also added a few more holes to the leg strap and can adjust the fit according to the outfit, loose for the soft slouch look, or tighter for a taller trim look. The gold is fun! I wore them with a bronze shimmery short skirt to an evening dress-up event and will wear them with jeggings during the day.
Reviewed by Just Debbie from Northern Cali on Tuesday, September 17, 2013although these boots may be great for some, my review is not based on fit (although they were wide for me). The quality of the boot and the leather, it is very thin, almost flimsy to me.. The gold color was fun and different, wish it would have worked out.. they may be perfect for someone else..
Reviewed by Trulyb from Asheville, NC on Sunday, January 6, 2013There appears to be some variation in fit, pair to pair. The first pair I got did have some heel slip in just one boot, but I liked them enough to reorder them in the same size, and the second pair is a great comfortable fit. Plua heel slip tends to lessen as boots break in if the fit is otherwise good. I'm glad I persisted to get the right pair for me.
I'm gnerally in between a 7.5 and an 8 in non-hiking shoes, and in these the 7.5 was right for me - on the second try. In this smaller size, the instep is somewhat snug, but really not too tight for me, and I do expect there to be some stretch over time. I don't have a wide foot by any means, so that may be why I don't find them too tight in the instep as some have - or it may be more of the pair to pair variation in fit.

Reviewed by Boulder Mom from Boulder, CO on Wednesday, October 24, 2012I have tried other Gentle Souls and the fit has been great, but these had a funky uncomfortable fit and felt a bit on the small side at the toe, while sliding out at the heel. They are VERY gold, not just a muted, I can get away with this for everyday gold!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Puss in Boots from SW Virginia on Thursday, October 18, 2012Returned TWO pairs in sizes 8 and 7 and 1/2. Both HUGE in the heel. Tried inserts. Still too big. Gave up. Lovely looking boot, but I would never be able to walk in them. So sad...
- Cons: Heel Much Too Large
- Pros: FABULOUS COLOR
