First of all they looks like something your grandma would wear - all that thick rubber sole and ugly shape and color. Sole is REALLY heavy and that string on the side is a rubber cord, so when I walk fast they slap extra hard and extra laud. With everything GS does lately I have a feeling that whoever design their shoes never tries them on - if that leather part on top would be an inch wider, shoes would be stay on foot better.
On a plus side are all around leather and cushions. Super soft deer skin for foot bed and padding are nice to stand on. Surprised even myself and decided to keep them - to shuffle around the house and for limited walking, and only price outweighed the disadvantages. But with all comfort promised and intended, they not for walking!
I got them half size down too, and probably could get away with full size down - they big and wide. They are like heavy Birkenstocks.

Gentle Souls makes a very well-made, comfortable shoe. I am not rating this one as high because the leather is not as soft as it is in the red leather which you carry. It is stiff and does not have the cleanly finished edges that one would expect from a sandal in this price range. I have 3 other pairs of Gentle Souls which I love. It also seems to be a 1/2 size too long.
