  • Rocky Mudsox Rubber Boots - Waterproof, 16‘‘ (For Men)
By DrKayak from NorCal on 05/17/2012
    Pros:
    Comfortable
    Sizing:
    Feels full size too big
    Width:
    Feels too wide
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
When in doubt down size on these. They are basicly a full neopreme boot with a soft rubber boot bonded over the foot section. they stretch and need to snug to fit right. I bought my standard size and they were too big. I liked them well enough to exchange for a smaler size.

Finally found a boot for sunrise walks with the dogs. I hike about 6 miles every morning in the woods and open fields. Bean boots if getting wet everyday soon have stitching problems, hiking boots that claim to be waterproof in most cases are not, regular rain boots do not have adequate support or tread. So far (two weeks) these boots have worked well in very wet conditions, decent traction on wet rocks in streams, and even going down hill though the foot does slide forward a bit. Too early to tell if these will handle warmer weather than 60F but so far I get home despite the day with dry feet. Only complaint is they are heavy like my above ankle hiking boots but I will accept it because of the tread and support. Four stars only because I haven't had them long enough to see how they hold up.

These boots were better than I had anticipated. The quality of the leather reminds me of a truly well made, heavy duty baseball mitt, only heavier and better. When I slipped these boots on, they fit like a hand in glove, really no break-in needed. The Diamond-Trax soles are a very good feature on these boots, as they have excellent traction and grip, and they are extremely well cushioned. Great Georgia boot quality. They also go great with blue jeans. For the price that STP offers with a coupon, man I don't know how anyone can pass these up, especially when you look at the price that you would pay for these boots elsewhere. I don't know how you do it STP, but keep these deals coming!
