I use these gloves for kayak fishing in moderarte low temps. It is both good and bad that they are thin. Good becasue you are able to feel everything that you touch. Bad because they dont stay warm very long. I did find out that you can use your touch screen pohone with the gloves on which was VERY convienent asnd was a plus. They have been great for kayaking because of the grip and slim fit. Would not use for a 30's or low 40's day out cause your fingers will get cold quickly. yet even the thickest gloves I use still struggle keeping my fingers warm.

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
These gloves are great for fishing in inclement weather. They would also be great fro ndividuals that work outdoors in various weather conditions and that may also need access to their fingers.

In the Pacific NW, we need protection from the cold and wet during the cool months. (I've used it down to high-20s. Hands would probably get cold if outside temp were much lower.) This glove is just enough protection to keep your hands working while leaving enough mobility to actually fish. You can find thicker, warmer gloves but you end up taking them off all the time when you have to do anything (like cast). The fold-back tips of the thumb and pointer finger on the Glacier Glove work pretty well for casting and stripping.
