Glacier Glove Dr. Shade Sun Hood Clava - UPF 50+ (For Men and Women)

I bought this for flats & back bay fishing in the Gulf & Caribbean. Will test drive it in St. Lucia next week. The coverage is full, color neutral and there is a back slit to allow it to be folded forward. Polarized glasses fit comfortably in the opening for your eyes. No noticeable visibility problems. Appearance is purely functional.

I purchased this for motorcycle riding, to protect the parts of my face and neck that usually get sun- and/or windburned. It works wonderfully and it is comfortable to wear. The smooth fabric breathes well and does not contribute to condensation inside a helmet. The down side is that it is really unattractive. The area around the eyes is cut to conform to the face (I think), but since I wear glasses I had to fiddle with the fit. It did interfere with my peripheral vision, but this was not an issue while wearing my helmet as some peripheral vision is already blocked. I may cut slits for my eyeglasses in the future. For the sun sensitive, I definitely recommend this product. It performs better than I expected.

I'll use this when I'm outside doing yardwork....when it's very hot and sunny. Also when I go fishing or hiking on hot sunny days. I like the fact that it is very lightweight, but still does the job of keeping damaging UV rays away.

use it as lightweight, breathable protection from serious bugs. also comfortable enough to wear as nightcap when cool-weather camping.

Hood seems to work for me, eliminating the need for globs of smelly, sting your eyes, sunscreen. But wearing it makes me feel like the phantom of the opera or the mummy. Wearing one might be good for warm weather snow skiing, but not for cashing a check at the bank.
