Golden Bear Van Ness Lambskin Jacket - Insulated (For Men)

It is hard to beat this company when it comes to classic styling and timeless design. Golden Bear has been making quality leather clothing for decades and they only get better. This jacket is a go to jacket for casual dressing taken to that next level. The hand of this leather is supple and the texture like buttah. Buy this you will not be disappointed.

not enough inside pockets for international travel

Like all Golden Bear leather I have seen it is the best. I didn't care for the gussets ont he back of the shoulders. I returned it, but ordered the GB Barracuda jacket to replace and I like that style better.

I purchased this item as a gift for my husband. The first one had problems with the construction around the right shoulder, where the gusset wouldn't lay folded when not expanded. There was also a bit of unusual bunching under the arm. Customer Service verified that this item is not "second" and it was returned as defective. When we received the replacement, it also had problems. In this case the collar didn't seem to lay properly. All in all a nice leather jacket, just constructed poorly. Next time I'm in the mood to spend several hundred dollars we'll just make a shopping trip into town.

I own another Golden Bear leather jacket (purchased from STP of course) already. GB's leather quality and their attention to detail and overall craftmanship are just spectacular. Top-of-the-line in all respects. Some FYIs per this jacket: it is slighlty more "reddish" than I would have guessed from the picture, plus the inner lining is more "rust-ish" colred than I would have chosen if I was the designer, but I am not the designer...so there you have it. Neither of these are reasons for me to return the jacket though, just observations I thought I would share. My personal issue with this jacket is the arm "gussets" that I feel might make me look like an 80s Michael Jackson video. OK, I am not even sure "gusset" is the right word (I would know if I was a clothes designer, I suppose.) My other GB jacket just has sleeves sewn right onto the main body of the jacket with one single, simple seam. I like simple seams. This one is attached to the main body of the coat with accordian-looking leather folds. That would probably facilitate me reaching for things far away, but I am not sure the accordian arm style is for me. Since I could not see that particular detail from the pics, I thought I would share and let you decide for yourself. G'luck.
