I'm an average sized woman who was looking to replace a pair of mens chukkas that were just plain wearing out. I wanted something nice enough to wear in a casual office but need something that is also good for light field use. Was intimidated by the "runs small" notes and so I ended up having to send 2 pair back before I got what fits nicely (men's 6 for a woman's 8-8/12 foot). So, in my opinion the size runs normal. The average man might find they run narrowish but the shoe works for me. I've only worn them a couple of times so far and they've been comfy-little break-in required. Sock liners are a must with these as a whole day in the office told me they didn't breath well!Overall appearance is average, the leather looks a little cheesy but after searching the entire web these were closest to what I was trying to replace. I have yet to test the waterproofness - I hope that holds up as advertised.[...]

Had to return three pair before finding one marginally acceptable. One pair was way small. Ordered size larger. Two had very badly sewn tongues. Last pair is only good for casual use. Tight across both arches.[...]

gave shoes to my son. the left shoe is about a half to a whole size smaller than the right.

I was hoping to get a sturdy work boot. These remind me of a light weight boat shoe. Very light, soft sole, thin leather. Much more like a casual boot to walk the dog in damp grass. I would not classify them as a work boot. feels very tight in the width and length.

Very nice product. I would certainly buy again
