GoLite Ether Wind Jacket (For Women)

I love this jacket. It's great for wind and rain. I usually wear a medium, but after checking the GoLite web site for their sizing chart, I decided to order a large. It's perfect.

First off, I don't understand why people are rating this product lower because of its performance in rain. It is a WINDSHIRT. And if you don't understand what a windshirt is, all you need is to look at the weight. It weighs 3.5 ounces. You can't make a rain shell that light, that's just how it is. This product functions beautifully for its intended use, protecting your arms and torso from the wind.

I love the rasberry color but the sizing is too big. You can hardly tell you are wearing it and it feels good to the touch. I haven't tried it in any wet weather yet but it claims to repel water.

I love GoLite products. The problem with them is non rip-stop fabric used in making the garments. The material tears or breaks down easily. I wear a fanny pack while walking and the buckle wears through the material. These products are so light weight you forget you are wearing them and they breathe very well. Great for starting out on a long walk or run on a cold morning. Stuff pocket is small. You have to work hard to pack all of the material into it and get it zipped up. The hood on this ether model is a welcome addition.

This is a very light weight and versatile coat, but I didn't like the fabric. This is my personal preference; you may like it. Since I didn't try it on, I can't comment on the fit.

I like this jacket. Light weight and fits anywhere. I miss a real pocket since I do not carry a purse etc. I do not know if it is waterproof, so far have only worn it in windy conditions. I hope it also works in rain.

wore this at the start of my half marathon, it was 40 degrees, Took it off at mile two and just wadded it up and carried it. Worked great.

I bought this jacket to keep in my hiking daypack and it is incredibly light. I got the purple, a great vibrant color. It's large enought to wear comfortably as an overlayer, but there's not so much fabric it flaps around and bunches up. I haven't worn it in the rain yet, but I expect it will shed water until it's saturated, then continue to keep me warm even when thoroughly wet.

Wore this in high winds and it did very well. Don't think it would hold up to a lot of rain but did well in light rain. Could use a larger pocket.
