Great light weight pack. I've used it for 3-4 day mild weather backpacks, and summits days. The roll top allows for loading all sorts of odd shapes mission critical items, ie. beers and rope. The compressions straps are a little light weight to hold skis.

Great Summer Pack, but for trips requiring those bulkier but still lightweight gear items choose the Pinnacle, it is the same pack only a bit bigber, all in all one outstanding UL Pack, perfect for weeks worth of warm weather gear and food

The Jam2 is exactly what I have been looking for. It is rugged enough to take it but not so heavy as to be over done. The design is simple but complete with water bottle pockets on each side, a sizeable back pocket, compression straps times two on each side and good shoulder straps. Once the snow melts, I'm gone!

I just received my Jam 2 pack. This is my second GoLite pack (#1 being a Trek). I have spent the last few days loading and unloading, trying to see what works and what doesn't. The first thing I noticed was that there is a removalable pad behind the water bladder sleeve. This is not needed if you are using your sleeping pad as a frame sheet. This is my first pack that has pockets on the waist belt and I really think these are great. The water bottle bockets are deep and easily swallow the bottles. I hope to use this pack for 7 day hikes, the real question will be if I can get light enough to get everything in the pack. It appears I will. I am looking forward to spring and a real test.

I just did a 17 mile backpack trip with my Boy Scouts last weekend. This was my first trip going ultralight. My old pack was 7 lbs and my tent was 4 lbs. Used the Jam 2 and a tarp for a total pack weight of 26.6 lbs including water and food for 2 days. It even has a whistle on the sternum clip! Great experience, so I will never go back. Was going to make my own, but found the Jam 2 on Sierra Trading Post and decide that I could make it for the price.

Its a very nice pack, very well made. My torso is just under 19" and i think the large is more comfortable. Golite recommends the medium for that torso size.
