These are good looking casual shoes which are suitable for light hiking as well as tooling around town. The Medium width is wide enough to accomodate my big orthotics once the very good stock insole has been removed. Not especially warm, so not ideal for winter, but very light and good for the three...

I was looking for a pair of shoes for travel that I could wear both to the hotel gym and to a nice restaurant in the evening. This is one of the very few pairs that can pull that off; they are outdoor shoes with a rubber sole, but they are black suede with little embellishment and, most important, the side of the sole is also solid black. Meanwhile, they are very comfortable. The tread is a series of small rubber prongs, must like shoes for astro-turf. I'm sure that gives great grip if hiking on dirt or grass, but they can be a little slippery on a slick wet floor. But again, given my intended (dual) purpose, they are ideal and, at the STP price, a steal.

I have several pairs of these. GoLite was a great discovery for me. These shoes feel great from day one. The only drawback is that maybe the sole wears out more quickly than regular soles. These shoes feature nubs (for lack of a better term) on the sole and you walk on them. They are very grippy. I've never felt them lose traction. Grippier material does tend to wear out more quickly so, in respect they wear normally but, if your expecting them to wear the same as a standard soled shoe, you my not be happy. I'll keep wearing them and buying them.

This is the second time I've ordered this shoe. It is super comfortable and great on hiking trails. The only con is that it wears out quickly. However I believe that is due to the grippy sole which I would rather have than a hard one that slipped on rocks or loose gravel. I bought 4 pairs this time due to the great price.
