    The light weight comes from using tiny buckles & straps, and just enough padding. I am 5'2", with a short trunk, so I ordered the small size. It's not quite as roomy as I thought it would be, and I can just barely fit my basic equipment into it. I'm considering trading it in for a medium, instead. Overall, though, it's comfortable and truly lightweight.

    If you want to pack under 30lbs, but not sacrifice a lot of room, then this bag is for you. The key is to keep the Odyssey under 30lbs. Otherwise the limited amount of padding on the bag will no longer work. Water repelling coating can handle the rain, so no more rain cover. Highly recommend this bag for anyone wanting comfort, lightweight, durable, and easily adjustable backpack. Full retail is even worth what the bag offers.
