It's very light and simple. Carrying heavy load can be a bit uncomfortable. There are pockets on the hip support which are accessible while fully loaded. The straps to tighten the bag are way too long. The bag is convertible from multi-days to day hikes. There are reflectors on the straps making it easy to find at night with a light ofcourse. The stitching is not superb but will last a long time. It's very light and simple.

It's not very attractive but it gets the job done superbly well.

For those who need to know - this pack (mine is sized medium) holds a Garcia bear cannister horizontally inside. Sometimes it is hard to find this information - so there it is!

This is a great lightweight backpack that you can load and feel like you're carrying nothing. It held up pretty well in the rain. I had plenty of space for everything that I needed and the backpack can also fold down to be a great daypack.

Great trade off!!!! I bought my girlfriend a coach wallet for christmas and I got this from her. Granted I told her exactly what I wanted, but my gift holds a whole lot more. I am about 5'6' and I bought the medium because of the lack of adjustments and things fit great. I think I am still a little short for the pack but after loading it with 20lbs of gear and taking it on a 7 mile test run, I will gladly trade perfect fit for the weight difference. There is no frame in this pack, but the added space inside allows for a ridge rest to be used as an internal frame. I like that I don't need to strap stuff outside the pack allowing me more mobility in the woods when going over rocks, over or under down trees and along ledges.

I strongly recommend this pack, and if nothing else, you can annoy the heck out of your friends with the safety whistle built into the sternum strap, a feature not advertised.
