“I wanted a light, relatively simple day pack for the backcountry and lift skiing, with space for a hydration system. This pack had all those things, plus a few added functions. One that I like is the ski strapping system; independant velcro straps for skiis on both sides of the pack that work well, are stable when climbing and don't appear to want to wear out too quickly. My only qualm is that there are no compression straps to shrink the pack when it is not full. Still, it has a fairly low profile on the back and is fairly narrow so this is a minor complaint. I am 6' and got the large, which fits well. The zippers are those waterproof ones; we'll see how long they last; also, you need both hands to open them, at least at first, as they are tight. Overall, a solid pack that meets my needs better than my old but well-loved Mountainsmith (probably 15 years old).”
