They are soft and warm and perfect for casual or business casual. They're great for winter and I"m hoping they'll be good year round (or at least 3 seasons).

Answer Merino wool can shrink if washed in hot water and dried at high heat.

Answer I haven't noticed them shrinking, but these Merino Wool socks are not as soft against my skin as other brands I have. They're rough and scratchy, even after many washings.

Answer As long as you don't wash them in hot water or put them in the dryer, they won't shrink. I wash mine by hand & let them drip dry (they dry pretty quickly). To decide about size, think about how you'll wear these socks: will they be your base layer, or will you wear them over another pair of socks?
