I have over the years found merino wool socks to be the best overall choice for wearability and comfort. I've had cheap ones. I've had expensive ones. This particular sock surpasses them all. I use them 10 months of the year (in high summer, I switch to a cotton sock). While somewhat more expen...

I already owned one pair, and when I saw they were on sale, I bought 5 more pairs. The socks are not only great for hiking, and I typically walk at least six miles a day, but they are comfortable everyday socks (though not suitable for dressy occasions).
The material is soft yet durable, with extra padding on the bottom and heel, yet without the bulk of other hiking socks that I have. One nitpick is that the one pair of "blue" socks that I got appear to me to be more of a gray, but that really did not matter to me.

Good quality socks and wll keep them, but there a much brighter ("white-er") color than appears in the picture so not really what I was looking for. Also a bit thicker, definitely on the thick-side of "medium cushion".

I order Medium in both Smartwool and these Goodhews, and the Goodhews were much bigger, way bigger than I can wear. I gave the socks away. It was evident that they are also much thinner than Smartwool socks, so be aware.

These are basic nice merino wool socks, with great cushioning, fit and comfort. Nothing flashy, but my new favorite sock. Cuffs stay up nicely, without binding.
They have survived multiple machine washings and drying with no sign of wear.

The product description mentions merino wool, but they are entirely unlike any merino socks I have ever owned. They are made in China, which might have something to do with it. The predominant fiber is something far too elastic for socks, resulting in a poor fit that gets looser over time. I sent all of mine back.

68% merino wool, 30% nylon, 2% spandex. My son loves them. Warm, not itchy (although I must admit, I was wary of the combo at first because I am a 100% cotton lover).
