Reviewed by Doxiemom from Socal on Friday, November 30, 2012This is a 30 percent wool blend sock, its pretty thin. I haven't tried hiking in them, but use them for home and comfort. They're very soft. I would use them in boots for everyday walking but they are too thin for warmth around the house and so soft that they are slippery on tiles. I would buy more just for wearing in boots.

They are thin enough to wear with Danskos but still warm and seem durable. I have had other socks from Goodhew that have held up very well after a few years. These seem 'denser' and more durable than some of the thin cable merino socks from Smartwool that always wear through on the toe and ball of the foot for me. I ordered 2 more pairs in the same color (a nice heathered brown) after seeing how nice they were.
