I read the review that the mittens run small and it is true. I ordered the medium (my hands are fairly small) and they barely fit. I am really pleased with them. They are really pretty and warm!

Gave these mittens a good test run this past weekend on three summits in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The temps were in the 10's with 60mph sustained winds and my hands stayed nice and toasty warm. The leather palm gave me a good grip on my trekking poles too.

I've bought a L and it fits nicely (my hands are about 7.5 inches from wrist to finger tip, with slim long fingers). The down filling feels warm. However, I've yet to test it for my trip to Elbrus in late June.

These gloves run slightly large so go down a size. I was a XL in another brand, but am a Small in these. They are super comfy and warm and I love wearing them. They are not bulky at all and allow good hand movement through them. They are expensive, but well worth the extra cost and having a color range is also a bonus.

Got a pair at REI - liked it so bought 3 more. 2 smalls for my kids and Large for me. I usually wear 6.5-7 in gloves. I found that the large fit me the best in length - the cynch on the writst fits almost perfect on my wrist. Still sl short. Got 2 more in size small for the kids because I love that it's toasty (maybe too toasty for the kids but I have cold hands) I found that I could have gotten away with the Small too - the length isn't much different than the Large ones. The large ones are a bigger mitten all around, but the length is pretty close. I'm keeping them tho - It's the only mittens that aren't bulky but can keep your fingers warm in the single digits.

I use these for running when it is really cold. The Gortex and the down help but my fingers were barely warm enough at 15 degrees. These are probably the best choice without having lots of bulk. I still can hold the dog leash and get into my pockets.

I have small hands (and usually wear a small or xsmall in gloves), so I ordered the small size but they were too short as my fingers couldn't be straight inside the glove. I exchanged them for the mediums and they were still to short. Their must be some design flaw so if you have short fingers, they'd probably work for you. Otherwise, order up at least 1 size.
