There is a gripper area on the palm side, it really helps hold, for instance dealing with the keys in mittens can be pretty much impossible, the grip is in the right place to make some tasks possible. Great for very cold weather and the grip area makes it so (in some cases) you can keep your mittens ON!!

No difficulties at all in the middle of Warsaw winter. Also, true to size. I have pretty big paws, and the 2XL fit like a charm.
