I could not have kept this hat without this, as it was really large for me, almost thought it was miss labeled. It's a great hat, good for cool weather and nicer looking than the baseball hats I'm always wearing.

Two reviews in oneReviewed by Anonymous from Coastal Delaware on Monday, February 9, 2015I bought this hat last year for myself and wear it nearly everyday in coastal temps between 30 and 60. It handles that range well, and does so with the drop down ear flap which covers the ears and the back of the head. I found the sizing to be pretty spot on. I wear a 7 1/8 to 7 1/4 in other similar hats and find the medium to be comfortably snug. My father admired the hat during a visit and tried it on. After learning of the GoreTex and ear flap, he was notably impressed - and jealous. I got him one this year and he loves it. We were complimented on our hats by several people the day we both wore them. Though the hat keeps the chill off in the low 30s, it's not specifically warm. If you're going to be in the cold for a sustained period you might need to break out something warmer. Great versatile hat I'd buy again in a heartbeat. Still looks as good as it did new after a year of steady use.

Wore it on a rainy evening to take the dog out, and completely kept my head warm/dry. Rain beaded right up on the hat, and was easily shaken out. With the ear flaps down, the fit was still good. The flaps seem a little thin, but they appear to do the job in keeping my ears covered/warmer. The thinner flaps help maintain a good fit for using/not using them. The quality appears to be great. I hope to be using the hat for years to come.
