Gottmann Leather Driving Cap (For Men)

Perfect for driving my Boxster with the top down in the harsh Palm Springs winters!

I got 2 caps, brown and black. The brown cap was my favorite it wasn't shiny leather like the black cap and it fit me right. The black cap I had to send back because it was a oversized eventhough both were medium.

I had one of these for a year and a half, until the dog chewed it up. I was glad to see it available again, but when I ordered it, I found that the leather was not shiny as the previous hat, but suede like. Also, I paid 65 dollars, much more. It's OK, but I liked the smooth leather much much more. So I ordered the black one, which is smooth, hopefully. At least the picture looks like it is. And, the price has dropped twenty bucks!

Excellent appearance and construction

Have purchased Goettmann caps from [...] before. This product looks great & if it were sized properly, would be a joy to wear. My only complaint with Goettmann caps in general is that they do not go down far enough in the back to truly grip the head & stay on -- a good gust of wind & watch it sail away. NOT want you want in a "touring" cap. But, otherwise, a smart-looking & comfortable cap to wear -- if it FITS; the sizing is all wrong. Will have to return it for a smaller size.

Being bald I favor hats year round. They include a mouton uskanka, both a leather and summer breezer Aussie outback, a safari style fedora, headwraps and standard ball caps. I've worn flat ivy drivers caps too in the past although the only leather one I ever had was a long since worn out nice tan suede number from L. L. Bean. Here I opted for a black Goettmann to go with my black leather car coat. Both the quality of materials and construction is superlative and did not disappoint. I remain pleased with this buy especially with the additional 20% off that was available at the time.

Keeps me out of the elements while it complements my leather jacket.
