Gortex. Although this hat was designed for cold climates, I live in Singapore City, which has hot and humid rainy sub tropical climate. Protects from rain and does not get stifling because it's breathable. I also found that the drop down ear flaps are useful when trying to fall asleep while commuting, you can wear the hat backwards and the flaps will shield your eyes (the flaps are not 2 pieces of fabric for each ear, it is a 1 piece fabric which extends around the back of the hat). Stuff the hat into your bag when you go indoors. Cold + hot + weatherproof + fashionable, it's the all in 1 hat. I still have to see how long it lasts before I would call it the perfect hat.
