Reviewed by Larry L from Baltimore, MD on Saturday, November 30, 2013This is a really nice cold-weather hat/cap, wool, Gore-Tex and ear flaps that fold out--what's not to like. I got this one at a good STP price and when only one size was left, which was a 7. This cap is maybe slightly too large for me, but its wearable and maybe it is too large when the earflaps are down, since they, in effect, make the circumference of the hat larger. Actually, if its cold enough to have the earflaps down, then I'm thinking less about fit than I am about warmth and the cap is still wearable. That's always a tricky design business with fold-down ear flaps, they change the size of the hat when in use.
Aside from all that mumbled-jumbo, its warm, attractive and obviously well-made. It should last a long time. My only concern is cleaning it. There are no real instructions/directions, but there are the universal pictographs that seem to have every cleaning method with an oblique line struck through it. When the time for cleaning arrives, I'll go online and find out exactly what those little drawings actually mean. The combination of wool and Gore-Tex may be a problem to clean, but right now I'm not thinking about that, as much as I'm enjoying wearing this warm, good-looking, well-made and waterproof cap.
Reviewed by Old Coach from Washington on Sunday, November 3, 2013Just finished wearing this hat for a week of elk hunting in Eastern Washington. It proved to be warm and dry, and was much quieter in the thick brush than my previous hat.
Reviewed by Rob the wise from Valley Springs, CA on Thursday, March 7, 2013Bought a large, was a bit loose. I returned it for a medium and it's way too tight. This hat would be better if it was adjustable or had a stretch band in it. I'm sending the second hat back too.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by robin from el prado new mexico on Tuesday, November 20, 2012This type of cap...with the earflaps that tuck inside....has NEVER worked before. When the flaps were in, the cap would feel 'stuffed'. When they are out, the cap felt loose. This cap gets it right.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Laid Back from Long Island N.Y. on Saturday, December 3, 2011I wore the hat in a heavy rain fall. The rain did not soak thru.
