Gottmann Wool Gore-Tex® Driving Hat - Waterproof (For Men)

Purchased as a X-mas gift for someone that needs warmth (earflaps), but also likes style. Love the hat, but it is too large (hence the rating). I will have to exchange for a smaller size. I would recommend to a friend, but with the sizing issue....

Great hat, but I always wear an extra large, and this extra large was way too big. Large fit perfectly. Would be helpful if size measurement was offered on hats.

Excellent Quality and Functionality. The only issue is color...both brown and black seem almost the same.

I think that the Franz Bittner Loden Crush fedora is the best hat ever manufactured, but now that I lost mine, and STP doesn't sell them anymore, this hat is pretty nice. I always dislike a hat at first, but this one has grown on me considerably. It isn't too good in rain since there is no brim, so I don't really get the gore-tex, but it's nice and warm and the ear warmer thing will certainly come in handy when the sub-zero weather is out.

I bought this for my grandfather. I really like that it's waterproof but it doesn't seem like it will be as warm as some similar caps I saw. I thought the price was pretty good for the quality.

I wear a size 56 (ie 22in), which would be a medium, and was WAY off for this hat, for which I wear a small. The wool and gore-tex are great for weather, but seriously, what's the point of a waterproof hat that has no brim? As soon as it rains much you've got water all down your neck wearing this thing. The Franz Bittner Loden crush fedora which STP sold in 2006 was a far superior hat, but now that I've lost mine and nobody manufactures anything quite as awesome, I guess this hat will do until I find something better.

keeps my head warm

I always wear either a hat or a cap because I like to keep my head warm. This cap is soft and warm and comes with a pull down ear warmer. Hat size labelling is unpredictable and this cap in XL is a little loose but that's easily fixed. The foam in the front head band is sure to wear out and can be replaced with some other material. Having the Gortex lining is a plus in the Pacific Northwest.

Classic, doesn't go out of style

As typical with all hats that are not made to size, the fit is never perfect. Even the small feels a bit too big for me (my normal size is 6-3/4)but that is up to the individual. I give it 1 star less than perfect to satisfy my pet peeve. The quality of the materials and workmanship can't be beat.
