“The search for a winter hat takes a long time if you have a large head and can't wear the one-size-fits-all variety. I don't like the silly "trapper" style and hate the way I look in skull caps. The beauty of this hat is that it has a definite shape, reminiscent of a 1930s style. Just pull it down in back (as another reviewer advised) and you won't be a ringer for the Cat in the Hat. I like the brim flipped up (face-framing!), but could imagine leaving it down in a snowstorm. Because I live in a warm-weather state, I can't speak to the warmth of the hat (bought for trips back East). But style-wise, it would work for casual and dressy occasions. I would size up if in-between two sizes.”
