I was skeptical to purchase this cook wear set because to can get light weight stuff at the dollar store for backpacking. But this set appears to be sturdy enough if taken car of because of the folding features. Nice little bag and salt and pepper/spice shaker too. Well worth the investment with a coupon deal too!

My first experience with this cooking set was on a canoe trip to the BWCA on a week long trip. The set overall gives you some good essential items, and some specialty items that you could do without.

Spatula- measures 6.5" compacted and 10.5" extended. The spatula minus the length of the handle is 3.75". It is easy to extend and put away, with a simple locking mechanism to keep it locked in working mode. It is a little flimsy, but gets the job done flipping pancakes and eggs. I also have seen some melting near the tip, so it should not be left on heat too long.

Spoon- measures 6.75" compacted and 10.75" extended. The spoon minus the length of the handle is a little over 4". Like the spatula, it is easy to extend and lock into place. The spoon feels a little more durable than the spatula. We used this for almost every meal for serving rice, veggies, and bullion. One side of the spoon is straighter than the other, so you can really scrape up all the scraps from the bottom of your pot. There are also measurements on the inside of the spoon up to 3oz/80ml.

Salt and Pepper Shaker- great little spice holder, the salt (white cap) side can hold 2/3 of the contents while the pepper (black cap) side holds the other 1/3 of the contents. Doing a lot of fishing on my trips, I find the smaller side holds the perfect amount of lemon pepper with plenty to spare for a week long trip. I ended up buying another one of these containers for additional spices. Containers are super durable and stay sealed nicely.

Whisk- measures 7 inches. This is not the most durable item and we had troubles with it falling apart in a thick batch of pancake mix we brought on the trip. I am a little more gentle with the set I bought for myself, and have not had it fall apart on me though.

Cheese grater- this is another one of those specialty use items. I brought it camping with me to grate string cheese I brought camping to put on tortilla pizzas. The grater fit great over the top of my MSR Alpine Bowl making it very easy to catch and store cheese for the pizzas.

Sponge&Towel- Both very basic items that do a good job at what they are supposed to do. The sponge is 3" long 2" wide and 1" tall and the towel is 11" by 7". The green side of the sponge is a rougher surface, and works good for cleaning dishes, while the towel holds in a lot of moisture, and works well for drying.

As usual STP coupons came to the rescue giving me this set for a steal! The number of items with such a compact design makes this a great light weight kit to bring out on any adventure.

The spatula melts when I fried an egg, and I don't know what other usage for the spatula.
