I was trying to take a nap in my somewhat drafty apartment when I got cold and annoyed with my heavy cotton blanket. So I threw it off and decided to try one of my new emergency blankets out just to see how it would do. Aside from being impressively loud, it also kept my body heat in much better than the thick cotton blanket. So in a minute or two I was pretty comfortable and actually fell asleep. One negative might be that it also retains moisture pretty well because my body vapor had built up noticeably after about 30 mins. For the price and for the purpose, solid.

You can always count on emergency blankets -- a.k.a. space blankets -- to do what they're supposed to do. They'll keep you warm if you need them to. But what sets some apart from others in my opinion is their quality and durability. These are top-notch in that department! Unfortunately, UPS provided us with a test for them...the delivery driver threw our package full of camping gear into a yard with a barking dog when no one was home. Sure enough, the dog got into the package and chewed up as many things as she could. She completely destroyed a couple of hydration bladders and some other items, but didn't manage to puncture a single hole in these blankets! If they withstood this chewing abuse, they're about as close to indestructable as they can be.

My son drives for a living and I want these in his car. My husband is a horse back rider amnd I hope he will take these with him. I bought for them and to keep in my car for emergencies.
