For shorter outings, put the bags in a plastic(or other airtight container) and you can revitalize for later use! they are activated by air, so remove the air and they go dormant. Happy warm hands !!

  • Question “Are these reusable?”

Asked on 5/16/2014 9:11:46 PM by Vicki from MA
    • Answer Not reusable. Package states:
"this product is designed for one time use"
I love these, though. They are essential for me,
in cold weather because I have "Raynaud's" syndrome,
meaning my fingers and toes can go numb and lose all
These really are wonderful in your gloves or in your pocket:)

    • Answer No, they only work once, but once hot they last for several hours.
Answered on 5/16/2014 10:49:38 PM by Nina from Minneapolis
    • Answer No. They usually last up to 8 hours, one time use only. If they aren't producing heat in that time frame I take them out and shake em a little bit, mostly get some air to them, then they are warm again.

    • Answer No, these cannot be reused. Once you open the package the grabbers heat up in like a minute or so, getting warmer until they reach max heat. The heat lasts for maybe 8 hours--it's a long time, because I'll just use one packet for a day of outside activity. The packets gradually lose heat and you cannot regenerate it. They're disposable. Once you take the grabber out of the packaging, the clock starts ticking. You can't stop it from heating up and you can't regenerate the heat once it starts to die. Hope this helps.

    • Answer No, the chemical reaction that creates the warmth is a one time event
Answered on 5/17/2014 5:13:30 AM by The Wolf from New York
    • Answer No, so buy a 10 pack, they last about 4-6 hours depending on how cold it is and what kind of gloves/mitts
      you are wearing.

    • Answer No, not reusable. I can usually get a full day's warmth from them.

    • Answer No Vickie they are not. But they are cheap enough from STP plus if you happen to have a coupon these are a good deal.
I found them useful over the winter this year in NJ.

    • Answer No......once you activate the packet by rubbing it, it will stay real warm for a few hours ....I don't think I ever needed it more than 4 hours and it did stay warm for that length of time. My Grandchildren love these packets.......I give them as "a stocking stuffer" for Xmas. I also use them when I go for long walks in the winter and hockey games. I keep a set in my car in case I need them.
      Hope this helps.

    • Answer Sadly, they are not reusable. However, the good news is: I have reusable one's but they are to big to fit inside my gloves and they don't give-off enough heat to warm my hands from the outside in! These warmers are flexible enough to put inside gloves and they kept my hands and fingers warm.. Sierra's price makes them cost effective !

    • Answer Once opened, the heat lasts for at least 7 hours, maybe more. So, you could use them in the morning & then again in the afternoon. But after about 7 hours, they no longer work & you cannot use them later.

    • Answer No, the Grabber heat backs (whether hand warmer, toe warmer or foot warmer) are not reusable. They create heat through a chemical reaction in the product, and once that reaction is completed, the chemicals are consumed. However, for the price of the product, the fact that they are disposed off after use is not a major concern for at least most of us. I have been VERY happy to have had them on several occasions when I my hands (or feet, as the case may be) otherwise would have been very uncomfortably cold, such a skiing or fly fishing in temperatures in the teens or 20's. In such situations they are definitely worth the price. I would suggest that you add a half dozen of these to you next order (I don't know that I would suggest ordering just these) from STP and try them out - I will be surprised if you do not find they are well worth the price and find yourself order more (though I know STP does not have them available all of the time, they certainly do seem to have them on a regular basis).

    • Answer Yes, if you seal them in a Ziploc bag. They are air-activated so after you open them they will continue to work (approx. 8-10hrs) unless you cut off the oxygen. By doing this, I've been able to get 2 or 3 days of use out of them. I googled this question and found a video on you-tube.
