I buy these at the end of each season (when the best discounts are offered on STP!), saving them for the winter. I cycle until the ice sticks to the ground each year (November this year, December the year before). These allow my toes to survive comfy on the road for 5 hour rides in temps between 20F & 45F. And when it's bitterly cold (10F or less), I put one set on the bottom of the feet and one set on the top of the toes. This method has kept the toes/feet happy for a January football game at Lambeau Field.

I use these at the late season Bronco games. It would not be possible to sit for 4 hours in the cold without these. I just bought some on sale from Sierra Trading Post for the cold weather games this next season.
I ordered in January 2012, and these expire in 2014.

I've been ordering these for the last five years and there are always carryovers from one year into the next. I've never opened a pack that did not warm up, but I do notice that they may not last the 6 to 8 hours. Warmers that I've carried around in my bag become useless and I put that off to possible punctures and whatever happens in our bags on a daily basis.
