these worked great in hunting season, but be sure to wear boots with a good amount of toe room, not only to keep from cramming your toes, but also to allow the warmers to breathe and stay warm. for very cold days, sandwich your toes with these warmers and you'll be good to go for hours.

My wife and daughter and I have all use these to keep our toes warm when skiing on days that were cloudy, windy and below 10 degrees. These along with the hand warmers absolutely helped make the days more enjoyable.
They fit pretty well you just shake them and insert them into "warmer pocket" if your boots have them or just place the foot warmer inside the top of the boot, above the toes so it provides warmth but doesn't bunch up underfoot.

I ordered in January 2012, and these expire in 2014.

I've been ordering these for the last five years and there are always carryovers from one year into the next. I've never opened a pack that did not warm up, but I do notice that they may not last the 6 to 8 hours. Warmers that I've carried around in my bag become useless and I put that off to possible punctures and whatever happens in our bags on a daily basis.
