“scratchy, rough seam stitching inside”

“I really wanted to like these. I got two of them. I should mention that I'm female, but really like hard-wearing guy shorts for when I do construction type jobs, or go scrambling around on rocks. Most of the time, the size I got fits well (or loosely) in all the important places. These shorts, in contrast, avoid a crotch seam by running the seam to the sides, across what you could call the "back of the very upper thigh" and then diagonally across the thigh. And the thread they used is incredibly rough and scratchy. I ran my fingers along it for quite a while, deciding if it was likely to soften with a few washings, and could not convince myself that it would soften at all--it seemed like the coarse nylon cording that only becomes rougher and more rock-like with age and wear. So I gave up and sent them back, despite liking all other aspects of the styling. If you find that shorts do not touch you in those areas, ever (and if you are unlikely to hop on a bike while wearing them)...or if you're willing to take a chance on different sizes or colors being stitched with different thread...or if you take a Chuck Norris approach to tough clothes, and just "out-tough" them, these could be very nice shorts for you. But they were unwearable for me.”
