I am >50 and wanted some nice casual pants in lieu of jeans and these are perfect. I was concerned that they are pull on and mistakenly thought I needed the size Large to compensate for the lack of a zipper but found that I was mistaken. I am a size 12/14 (pear shape)and found the size Medium was a... Read More

Will be good for fall as they are little heavy, seem to run true to size.

Used to buy these at REI for 3x the price!
Great, comfortable pants. Shouldn't have selected an inseam, got them too long. Should be perfect after hemming.

I have a pair of the Gramicci Original Dourada cotton shorts. Khaki colored, size 14. Love these shorts and wear them nearly every day. When I attempted to buy the long pants from LL Bean who had been carrying this brand, I found they no longer carry Gramicci. Called Sierra, ordered pants in what I thought would be same color, was told I'd receive them in 2-3 days, and even got a discount. Imagine my disappointment when they arrived SEVEN (yep, 7) days later. French khaki turned out to be a yucky color of brown, no way was it khaki. In addition the material was a really unusual "kind" of cotton. Made in VIET NAM, not USA, like my shorts. Last but not least, the sizing wasn't good at all. I'm a 14 no matter what, these were way too big. Big Disappointment. Let's see how long they take for my refund.

These pants were great quality but a very heavy canvas like material. They were really too hot and heavy for hiking. I sent them back.

These pants perfectly suit my needs for a travel trip. I have spent years learning what I do and don't like when doing with lots of hill walking and sitting, then taking a meal at a cafe. So happy to find pants that have real pockets, as I avoid purses. I am 5'6" and 140 pounds, the medium fits just right.

    • Answer The color is a light stone/beige colour. I actually wash them with whites and bleach, that is how light coloured they are. Not see through, just lighter beige/stone coloured.

    • Answer I received two different grey colors when I recently ordered "Pebble Grey". One was a warm medium grey; it leans a tiny bit toward green. I returned the other pair, but if I'm remembering correctly, it was a cooler medium gray, leaning a bit toward blue; what I consider a true gray color. I remember liking the cooler grey better, but landed keeping the warm grey pair due to size issues. I really do like the color, but I don't wear anything grey with them. I have not ordered "Shale". I also ordered two "French Khaki" and received two different colors. I've been wearing Gramicci for decades and don't get too hung up on the colors if I can get something to fit well.

    • Answer Pebble grey is actually more of a very faded khaki green. It doesn't look grey at all. But the faded green is a nice color too and so it wasn't a problem. I've just ordered a pair in "shale" and am also wondering about what color I'll actually get.

    • Answer I went ahead and ordered both the Pebble Grey and Shale. They are basically the same color -- both are a grey with slightly different tints. The only real difference is the Grey has a black ribbon and the Shale has a pink-ish ribbon. I also ordered "Fresh Ink". The color is a nice, bright blue, but not as vibrant as it appears online.

    • Answer I believe ebony color is an extremely dark, dark brown color bordering on black. Black is all black and the ebony is more like black w/ a hint of dark brown. Hope that helps. This color would be beautiful with any rust colored or vanilla/cream colored tops I think!

    • Answer In general the rise does not change.
Answered on 3/23/2015 10:13:38 AM by Product Specialist Greg from Company Headquarters
    • Answer I tried XS in the 29", 31" and 33" inseams, and they all have a similar rise. But there is some variation even within a given inseam. The gusset width seems to be what varies the most, but by no more than 1/2". The slightly wider gussets made the difference for me. The rise on the SM is about 1" longer than the rise of the XS, although the gusset width was about the same. After trying ten XS in varying inseams and ten SM all in 31" inseam, I found two XS and and 4 SM that fit comfortably.

    • Answer I seem to find that the Original G pants fit more true to size. That being said, I have also found that every pair of Gramicci pants I order fits differently. I don't know why. I can order the same size, and some are smaller and some larger. The difference has usually been in the waist. I typically buy a small, which is strange, because I usually wear between an 8-10 in regular pants. I've actually had to return a couple pairs, because they were too snug. This probably doesn't answer your question - sorry. Good luck, though!

    • Answer I haven't purchased any of the Gramicci Vintage G pants but a size small in the Original G pants is listed as a 4-6. At 5'4" and 120 lbs. I wear a size 6 and the small, 31 inch inseam in the Original G pants fit great.

    • Answer I seem to run smaller than the Vintage or at least they feel that way to me (waist, hips). Could be my build after the long winter. :-)
