No, I would not recommend this to a friend

“WAY too big, and that was ordering one size smaller than normal! I might even recommend going down THREE sizes, but I didn't like them enough to bother getting a size that fit. Sort of reminded me of little kid camp shorts belonging to an older sibling 5 times your size. Not so hot!”
