I didn't think they could ever improve on their comfort and quality but the new belt is the only thing left. Ah Ha you have achieved perfection!!!!

The elastic waistband is not as nice as a "sized" waistband (see Gramicci Mountain Shorts), but is fine. The quick release belt buckle is not as nice as their older versions, though.

Reviewed by yamric from Columbia City, Oregon on Thursday, June 06, 2013Back in my climbing days Gramicci were my go to shorts because of the way there are designed to fit while wearing a harness. These are an improvement on those shorts it is nice to have a zipper with the same great design.

Never cheap, even at STP, but they sure beat retail. This buckle is ok but I wish they would stick with the old insert-click, squeeze top and bottom to release type. jvm

Reviewed by Green Mountain from Vermont on Saturday, May 18, 2013I ordered a pair of these a couple of years ago and love them, so I ordered two more pairs recently, on my old shorts, the belt is much higher quality and doesn't wrap half way around my back. On both pairs of new shorts the belt is not decorative like shown in STP's pictures but low quality black nylon webbing. Pretty disappointed in these shorts overall compared to the shorts I bought a couple of year ago.
