I ordered 2 light gray and they are tighter than the hot pink. Just be aware that sizes vary a bit depending on the color chosen. I've only tried hot pink and light gray.

This hat is perfect for that. I also wore it under my coat hood during sub-zero wind chill conditions and it worked well, although it has a tendency to slip down almost over my eyes as the hood presses it down. I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of it, and it was super-inexpensive.
