I have small hands and the XL seem to just fit. Yet to test them in the elements. Well made.

Used for an hour and a half hike through hilly terrain in the winter months Truly provides the warmth as advertized. Too stiff for driving.

I do not have warm hands but these boys only come out once or twice a season and only when it dips below -15F. This year the chill factor was -56F on top and these did well without additional liners or chemical packs. With chemical packs they may feel like being in the Mohave. And yes, the included felt liner feels (~3/8" thick) and is thus, bulky. The biggest problem with mittens is engaging the ski pole lanyards. Using them with Goode interloc ski poles (or Leki) work well since I leave detachable wrist straps on the mittens and clipping in (& gripping the pole grips) and out is no problem with these bulky boys.

I have cold sensitive fingers (Raynaud's Syndrome). I found I could wear these and ski for longer periods;all day in the cold if I used heating pouches - unusual for me. As the weather warmed, I removed the liners. If you find the liners too bulky , I suggest using a thinner liner; but the liners themselves are excellent as the temperatures rise. I had several skiers stop to compliment the sturdiness and attractiveness of the gauntlets - which I never expected. The fuzzy outer layers are great for blocking the wind on a freezing face during cold ride up the chair. The other girls can get diamonds - give me a great pair of ski gauntlets and I am THRILLED!

This is a very useful and well-made product. Worth the cost. Ski lift operators were impressed when they saw the mittens--because of the external fur. Not sure whether the external fur will stay clean--but the mittens themselves and the liner (very thick) are very warm. One person who sweats a lot in the hands borrowed them and said they were perfect because her hands did not sweat through the liner and kept warm that way.

These are very bulky. They will keep you warm under most conditions, even if you have poor circulation like I do. If you need to do anything that requires any manual dexterity, these are not as good as a thinner glove. By my best estimate, these have about 1/2" insulation all the way around. Great for snowboarding, if you have flo-bindings. You would have to take them off for other types of bindings. They are clumsy ones. These are amazing for several-day-long snowfield hikes.
