A ripstop and gore tex shell. There is also a thick removable inner mitten. Buy larger than you think. I measured my hand at the knuckles. 3 1/2 across and 1" thick. I just make into an XL pair.

Reviewed by Bob from Colorado on Saturday, March 09, 2013Yongest son received a pair at xmas for skiing. Worked great. Visited his older brother away at school in Steamboat Springs. After a day on the slopes he wanted a pair also. Received his pair via ups a few days later. These are made much better than the $70 double nylon mittens both son's had previously. Very solid construction. Warm, water and wind proof. Treated the leather with a little mink oil for longevity and softness. They should easily last for more than 2 seasons unlike their older mittens. Can remove the inner insulating mitten in warmer conditions.

Answer The right sizing for the glove is XL (Girth 9½ IN). The sizing chart we provide is just a general sizing chart.

Answer You can purchase liners seperately and wear them in these mittens. If you search for glove liners, it will show you what we have available.

Question “is nose wipe the shearling on "front" side; if so, can you detach somehow to wash?”

Answer The nose wipe is on the thumb and this glove is only to be spot cleaned.

Answer The nose wipe area (white material on the top of both mittens) is not removable for cleaning purposes (spot clean only) and a bit excessive but will certainly add to a polar bear paw look. Enjoy!
