Bought these primarily for snowboarding
PROS: - Pretty much doesn't get dryer/warmer than these mittens. To put things in perspective, I was snowboarding in 35 degree weather and couldn't put the shells on without my fingers sweating. Like someone else said, the shells would probably suffice to near 0 F temperatures, and with the liners, easily subzero.
CONS: - Sizing of the liners definitely run small. I have relatively short fingers but a very muscular hand, and went with a large and the fit is perfect (circumference of 8.5 inches at widest point of my palm). I would definitely measure hands first before purchasing - Little pieces of shearling were beginning to come off, but no biggie. - Incredibly bulky with almost no dexterity, but that's to be expected.
The move is definitely to use your own pair of warm liners (might be in your interest to use glove liners) and use the shells.
Overall, incredibly satisfied with this purchase. Remember to size up!
