Tried these on a 10 degree day of skiing in the northeast. May hands are always cold and with these--- nope. I ordered the mens small and I would normally be a womens small or med so they are a bit big. put the merino wool liners underneath and plenty warm. only gave four stars because the tops are very bulky and the palm side seems a bit thin so not sure how they will wear and because of the bulk, getting the pole straps over was a bit more challenging than usual. all in all the warmth factor won me over

I have had 3 pairs over the past 13 years of ski intructing. Ater a few years of wearing them daily through our Colorado winter they tend to pack out. I will not wear anything else. This is a well made, warm mitten that is windd proof and very comfortable to wear. On the reallly cold days (10 degrees F and below) I will wear a liner and hand warmer. I have never had cold hands in all these years! Yes I get teased about looking like a bnoxer but I don't care - I'd rather be warm. great product and a great price from Sierra Trading Post. These mittens help explain "There is no bad weather - just poor choices or clothing" These are a good choice !

Product is as advertised. The two best points: #1 Quality construction. #2 Extra soft supple leather. Only disappointment for me was the fact it had no wrist safety straps which prevent losing your mitten/glove when removing it on a lift for reasons like taking a photo. At this price it should have them. The wrist tightening cord and pull knob were high quality although the few times I tried to tighten it down around my arm or jacket it didn't seem to work that well for me. The Velcro wrist strap works fine. It should be pointed out you don't want this wonderful soft supple leather if your going to be using old fashion rope tows or mountaineering and skiing the back country. In that case you'd want a much more heavy duty leather. I didn't want or need that. Since I've not had a chance to use them in extreme cold weather skiing I can't give any personal warmth rating endorsement. One finally note I normally wear a men's medium which normally is a size 8.5 to 9. In this glove the large was size 9 and the Medium size 8.5. I was worried the medium would be tight so I ordered the large. While it didn't seem big on my palm area my small to medium length finger seem to be to short for a large. So I returned it for a medium which was a perfect fit.

These are nice gloves, made very well. They did not fit me, the thumb ran out of room before my fingers were into the mitten. I ordered a Large, and they seemed to be the right size minus the fact that my hand would not go into the mitten all the way. I returned them.

Received item quickly. Since ski season is not here yet, I cannot evaluate their performance compared to my five-fingered Grandoe gloves. Outside leather feels soft and gloves fit properly. Appears to be well constructed.
