Grandoe Sovereign Gore-Tex® Gloves - Waterproof (For Men)

Worked great climbing up a mountain in snowshoes and slidding back down it.

After years of wet gloves that just wouldn't dry out at the end of each day, these are a welcome replacement. They live up to their waterproof description. I bought a pair for each my husband and son, who are both long armed and hot natured. The gaiter is great for covering the gap between sleeve end and wrist and keeps out the snow during a wipeout. They are warm but not enough to cause sweatty hands during warmer days or heavy exertion on the slopes(I don't know how they would work for someone who gets cold easily). I would buy more if there were more sizes. available.

I bought these as a second pair after having some Grandoe All-Terrain Gore-tex gloves. The All-Terrain were warm down to -22C in Canada but the Sovereign felt cold at -8C in Europe. The All-Terrain gloves are still fine after 20+ days including a week back country touring but a seam opened up on these after 2 days light use. The goggle wiper is usefull, but the zip pocket on top of the hand seems to be a waste of time.

Only used the gloves once, skiing on a 30 degree (F) day. They were warmer than I needed. They will get most use in biking. Cold weather is pretty much over around here so haven't tested for that. The gloves have a goofy rubber windshield wiper thingy on the back of the left thumb. (At least that's what I think it is.) It doesn't seem to get in the way, but I doubt I'll ever use it.

unfortunately, the weather changed from 15 and snowy a week ago to 60 - 75 a few days later. The gloves arrived after the cold weather had gone. I probably won't use them until next winter....

The gator that goes over the sleeve is too tight
