Verified Buyer Reviewed by Kay from NYC on Thursday, October 2, 2014A friend introduced me to the Granite Gear Blaze. But the Nimbus Trace is much cheaper on STP after one of their many couple codes. I like that the lid is removable so I don't have to deal with the extra buckles but the option to expand is there. Short fits my torso but the belt they included is a men's medium. I'll have to order a new belt for women's waist or exchange for a difference size with Granite Gear directly. Have to wait and see how the belt fit to see the overall comfort of the pack. I have high hopes.
Reviewed by Robin from Nevada on Wednesday, June 25, 2014I bought this to replace an older 65L North Face backpack. I was a little skeptical that the Granite Gear pack would fit all my stuff with the slight loss in size - boy was I wrong. This pack will easily carry all of my stuff for multi-day backpacking trips - sleeping bag, pad, stove, extra clothes, food, water, two-man tent, and all the little things. It has nice storage pockets and three big stuff pockets for rain gear and extra water bottles. The frame and harness are amazingly light, comfortable, and endlessly adjustable. I filled it up with 30 pounds of gear and it was so comfy and light feeling! It's highly compressible and compact (yet very roomy inside - they should have named it the Tardis). The pack is also designed for Granite Gear's accessories like hip pockets and other add-ons. My only complaint is that the hydration sleeve is very small. It's probably best used with a 2 L bag. I managed to barely get my 3 L Platypus into it but it stuck out of the sleeve by several inches. I can't wait to use this on the PCT this summer.
