Great for AR... you can fit most mandatory gear, if not all... depends on length of race.

what's nice is the way the top compartment flips to expose the drawstring closure for the top of the main compartment. The pack has 2 zip across access points 1 just below the closed top compartment and another below the cinch netting that holds 2 water bottles easily. The side cinch straps strap the internal load very well so no shifting of your gear inside happens it has mesh pockets on each side for more gear and several loops for hanging gear from even the waist belt has a zippered mesh pocket sewn into it a great technical pack in every detail the silicone impregnated nylon is ripstop and lighter than regular or heavier nylon mesh type pack fabric the top of the shoulder straps even have loops and cinches for small items I use it for toting my fishing gear down to streams to riding BART to the City and hanging out playing with my laptop the only pack of this size I ever owned even close in quality was a Trager and if you know backpacking George Trager made the first wood framed backpacks in the USA

Great pack and incredibly lightweight. Versatile zipper and pocket system allow multiple entry options to the pack and lots of "stuff" spaces. Fairly great for adjusting to body size and smooth for racing.

Unfortunately, I ordered it too short for my torso, which is a long one. It's difficult to comment on its features, since I returned it to the bo when I saw its size.
