We bought this for our daughter, who is 10 and going on her first weeklong Girl Scout Camp. She'll be hiking to a new camp site each day. We've been using it in preparation to get her used to carrying around all of her gear. It's been working great, even though she usually hates carrying anything.

This pack is ridiculously comfortable. I took about 45lbs on this pack for a 5mile (one way) trip over 1600ft of elevation gain in desolation wilderness (lake tahoe area). I'm not a particularly well built/strong person(5ft 6, 140lbs). But I had no problems carrying this load. I had no soreness in the hip or in my shoulders. The fit was perfect. There are 3 access points. One on top and more importantly 2 on the side. This pack is probably ideal for trips up to 4-5 days (with 45lbs and maybe push to 50lbs) on your pack. With 4000 cu.in. (XS size. For bigger sizes the capacity goes up to 4700 cu.in) it is a medium sized pack. For long excursions, this may not be ideal. Hydration pack is a minor con. It kept shifting here and there while loading. There are no clips for the hydration pack on the shoulder strap. So, you need to go to a store and get one if you need it. The side pockets could have been a tad larger. Minor gripes. For the comfort it offers, I love this pack. I also met another hiker who had this pack for 3 years and loved it.

Very comfortable technical backpack. Love all the pockets and easy access. I checked out the newer version, but could not stand the colors. The older model is a bit heavier, but better quality fabric and finish overall.

I love this pack! It is obviously the result of a great deal of research and development. My only complaint is not with the pack itself, but with the maker of the pack for not including a rain-cover with purchase. But just the same, this pack gives that same feeling of joy that a favorite pair of jeans might yield. If you've selected the right size, it feels like it's custom made just for you.

This pack is so adjustable. It makes it easy to pack all you need and feels weightless on your back.
